Officers from the Scarsdale Police Department were dispatched to a Mamaroneck Road home shortly after 2 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 21 on a request from undercover detectives in Greenburgh who reported that there was an open rear door at the residence, officials announced on Monday.
Police said that an interior check of the residence revealed that all three bedrooms and the kitchen had been ransacked, with multiple pieces of jewelry stolen as well as a jewelry box. The kitchen cabinets were open and there was frozen food on top of the kitchen table, which the homeowner said was not there when she left.
According to investigators, it appears that the suspects entered the home through a rear patio door using force. There were no pry marks on the door, but part of the door frame where the lock is located consistent with using force to enter the home. The burglary is under investigation.
